Job Overview
Seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to support our finance department with day-to-day operations. This role offers hands-on experience in accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate will gain exposure to US GAAP standards and develop practical accounting skills in a professional environment.
Accounting Intern responsibilities include:
1. Assist with accounts payable processing and vendor invoice reconciliation
2. Support accounts receivable functions including customer payment application
3. Help prepare monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries
4. Assist in month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation
5. Maintain accurate digital filing of financial documents
6. Support audit preparations by organizing supporting documentation
7. Participate in expense report processing and corporate card reconciliation
1. Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from US accredited institution
2. Basic understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas)
4. Minimum 3.0 GPA with completed coursework in introductory accounting
5. Available to work 15-20 hours per week during academic semesters
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
7. Professional communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
1. Rising junior or senior with completed intermediate accounting courses
2. Previous office or retail experience demonstrating professional reliability
3. Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
4. Experience with data entry or financial documentation processing
5. Involvement in accounting student organizations or Beta Alpha Psi membership
6. Knowledge of US tax basics or payroll processing concepts
7. Availability for potential extended hours during quarter-end periods
